Parks and Walks
There is an abundance of parks and walkways in Edinburgh . Not to be missed is Holyrood Park , only a few minutes walk from our holiday flat and often thought of as Scotland in miniature with a magnificent assortment of hills, lochs, glens, and crags and the towering Arthur's Seat as its centrepiece. Prince's Street Gardens are a perfect spot for an alfresco lunch in between bouts of shopping and sightseeing. The Meadows has tennis courts and is used for informal cricket, football, Frisbee, jogging and is the site of fairs, circuses and tented theatre. Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill have 160 acres of woodland, river walkways and a panoramic view of the city from the top of the hill. Corstorphine Hill is a real nature reserve and not only can you see badgers and foxes but also zebra and wildebeest – if you walk around the side of the hill by the zoo. Calton Hill is at the east end of Princes Street and provides a grand view over the city centre and across the Firth of Forth to the north whilst the Water of Leith has 12 miles (19 kms) of riverside walkway in and around the city.

Rugby
Murrayfield is the home of Scotland's rugby team and this year will host the final two days of the International 7 – aside series, followed by autumn tests against the New Zealand All Blacks, South Africa 's Springboks and Canada.

Football
There are 2 premier league football teams in Edinburgh , so if you want to check out the beautiful game during your visit, you should make a trip to either Tyncastle to watch Hearts or Easter Road for Hibs.
